This policy explains the information RO Filter Care collects, why it is used, and the choices available to you.
1. Who we are
RO Filter Care is operated by M. D. White (“RO Filter Care,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). Questions and privacy requests may be sent to app@rofiltercare.com.
2. Information we collect
- Account information: the authenticated ChatGPT account identifier and email address made available when you sign in.
- RO system information: system name, location, manufacturer, model, installation date, water source, notes, stage and filter details, service intervals, replacement dates, flush instructions, maintenance history, and optional purchase links that you choose to enter.
- Technical information: limited request, device, browser, IP-address, security, and diagnostic information that may be processed in ordinary server and content-delivery logs by our hosting providers.
- Communications: information you include when you contact us.
3. How we use information
We use information to authenticate users, save and synchronize maintenance schedules, calculate and display service dates, generate requested exports, provide support, protect the service, diagnose problems, prevent abuse, comply with law, and maintain or improve RO Filter Care.
4. Authentication and cookies
RO Filter Care uses ChatGPT account authentication provided through OpenAI. Authentication and hosting providers may use cookies or similar technologies needed to sign you in, maintain a secure session, prevent abuse, and operate the service. The public landing page does not intentionally use advertising or analytics cookies at this time.
5. How information is shared
We do not sell your personal information. Information may be processed by service providers that support authentication, application hosting, databases, content delivery, security, and email. We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights or safety, investigate abuse, or respond to valid legal process.
If the service is transferred as part of a reorganization, acquisition, or sale, information may be transferred with it, subject to this policy and applicable law.
6. Third-party links and exports
The service may contain links you enter or links to third-party services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. Files you export—such as PDF, ICS, or CSV schedules—leave RO Filter Care when you download or share them, and you are responsible for how those copies are stored and disclosed.
7. Data retention and deletion
We retain account and schedule information while needed to provide the service and for reasonable operational, security, backup, and legal purposes. You may request deletion of your stored RO Filter Care data by emailing app@rofiltercare.com from the email address associated with your account. We may retain limited records when required by law or reasonably necessary for security and dispute resolution.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect information. No online service or storage system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Keep your ChatGPT account secure and avoid placing sensitive personal, medical, financial, or payment information in free-text notes.
9. Your choices
You may review and edit schedule information within the app, delete maintenance-history entries, stop using the service, or request deletion of stored account data. You may also contact us to ask about or correct personal information associated with your RO Filter Care account.
10. Children’s privacy
RO Filter Care is intended only for people age 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. Users outside the United States
RO Filter Care is operated from the United States. If you access it from another country, your information may be processed in the United States or other locations where service providers operate, which may have different data-protection laws.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the service changes. We will post the revised policy with a new effective date. Material changes may also be communicated through the service when appropriate.
